The Kansas Collaborative received a national 2006 Innovations Award from The Council of State Governments for its pharmaceutical project.

Over $7 million of taxpayer money has been saved from this initiative…and still counting.
|
|
|
|
Pharmaceutical savings efforts reached an extensive number of facilities: Over 60% of jail beds are now covered (up from 24.0%), 1.5% of jail beds are “in process,” 4.7% of jail beds are “in discussion,” and 8.5% of jail beds have lowered local costs.

|
|
|
Partnered with the Kansas Sheriffs’ Association to reduce hospital costs for inmates to average a 70% savings.
|
|
|
|
Established a system for more than 350 Kansans from across the state to connect via Internet and communicate about geographic information system (GIS) policies. This list serve helped create the County Department Uses for GIS document, now being used by local governments across Kansas.

|
|
Facilitated discussions to allow local Kansas policymakers to focus on tangible actions, and not be impeded by political agendas. Neutralizing potentially sticky discussions was instrumental in achieving results.

|
Increased access to information for hundreds of Kansans who were seeking credible data to make informed decisions on a variety of fronts.

|
|
Stimulated communications and idea sharing among stakeholders on how to break down old barriers and forge new alliances and collaborations for results.

Catalyzed the effort to clarify the E-911 law regarding data sharing – the favorable Attorney General’s opinion is a victory for efficient and effective government.

|
Local governments received a “Top 10 State Contracts” list that was developed and distributed by The Transportation Breakthrough Team, resulting in money and time savings.

|
|
The Transportation Breakthrough Team created State 1R overlay project maps to notify local governments of upcoming “chip and seal” projects, allowing them the option of using the same contractor while in the area. The Transportation Team is working to save money, avoid duplication and share resources.

In 2005, Governor Kathleen Sebelius, the Kansas Association of Counties and the League of Kansas Municipalities launched The Kansas Collaborative to foster cooperation among units of government to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. These projects facilitated by TeamTech, Inc. have proven that networking will lead Kansas to better outcomes.
